About Lega Siaka

Lega Siaka is one of Papua New Guinea’s most naturally gifted top-order batsmen, known for his aggressive approach, athletic fielding, and occasional leg-spin. Born on December 21, 1992, Siaka has been a part of PNG’s core team since his debut and was one of the standout players in their early rise in international cricket. A fluent stroke-maker, Siaka typically bats in the top three and looks to dominate bowlers from the outset. He is particularly strong on the front foot, with an elegant drive and the ability to clear the ropes when needed. His century against Hong Kong in a 2015 ODI—a blistering 109—remains one of PNG’s landmark individual performances. Though primarily a batsman, Siaka also bowls useful leg-spin and has provided occasional breakthroughs in both formats. His all-round skill set adds value to the PNG squad, particularly in limited-overs cricket where versatility is key. Siaka has represented PNG in numerous ICC tournaments and was a part of the squad during their historic 2021 T20 World Cup appearance. His experience and attacking instincts have helped guide younger players during critical match situations. In the field, Lega Siaka is one of the sharpest in the team, capable of pulling off stunning catches and saving crucial runs. His athleticism adds energy to PNG’s fielding unit and reflects his commitment to all aspects of the game.
